PharmaTimes Representative of the Year - Overview
The Representative of the Year competition was the first to recognise the achievements of Medical Sales Representatives. The Medical Sales Representative environment is increasingly difficult. Accessing doctors is harder. The decision making pathways are more complex. In this environment, it is essential to recognise and celebrate the Representatives who continue to deliver real value to doctors.
Established in 1999, this is the only competition where participation is through the endorsement of doctors. During the competition process doctors are invited to nominate the representatives they feel deliver best value. The Representatives’ companies are then asked to confer the status of ‘Finalist’ on the nomination by selecting the representative to go forward to the finals. The cycle is completed, when the finalists are invited to sell to a panel of trained physician assessors.
The winners are announced to an audience of top sales managers and directors at a glittering evening to recognise the winners of the prestigious Pharma Awards.
Categories for the competition include in Primary Care – New, Experienced and Career Representatives. In Specialist Care – Diabetology, Cardiology, Care of the Elderly, Oncology, Mental Health, General Medicine, Paediatrics and Respiratory.
Winners of this competition are individuals who can demonstrate, not only the technical competencies required when selling complex medicines to doctors, but also display that unique customer orientation that sets the best apart from the crowd.
